Coaching
Experience and Accomplishments:
Presently in his 8th year in the Rochester Junior Rhino’s program.
Before then coached for the Rochester Mavericks, Greece Eclipse,
Greece House, and YMCA soccer programs. Coach Mort has produced
several League Champions included a Presidential Cup and 2 State Cup
Championship teams. He is also the current JV head coach at McQuaid
Jesuit H.S
Playing
Experience and Accomplishments:
Youth:
Played for the Rochester Mavericks from 1968 - 1977. Toured in
England and Scotland in 1976 playing against pro youth teams such as
Celtic and West Ham and High
School: Played at John
Marshall H.S. earning All-City/Catholic Honors
College: Played for
nationally ranked Morrisville College. First Team ALL-REGION and
team MVP. Participated in the 1979 NJCAA Tournament. Played at
Division I Boston University.
Local: Played in the
RDSL from 1978-1986. Teams included Rochester United, Rangers and
the Italian Americans. Participated in 2 U.S. Amateur Cups.
Other
Soccer Activities:
Coach Mort was one of the founders and served as President of the
RUNTS (Rochester Under Ten Soccer) League from 1998-2000 when youth
soccer in Rochester was transitioning to the 8 v 8 player format.
Also served as Boys Division Coordinator for the RAYSL (Rochester
Area Youth Soccer League) for 2 years.
